Aston Villa to take legal action against pundit Carragher
Jamie Carragher faced backlash from Villa fans for suggesting that manager Unai Emery should be a candidate to take the helm at Manchester United.
Aston Villa plans to take legal action against former Liverpool defender and current Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher. The club is taking action due to Carragher's controversial remarks about the club and its supporters. Carragher, 48, apologized for his "clumsy and wrong" comments, admitting they were intended as a joke. However, Aston Villa's chairman Nassef Sawiris stated that such insults are unacceptable and that the club will not tolerate them.
Carragher suggested that manager Unai Emery should consider replacing Michael Carrick at Manchester United, despite Emery's recent success in leading Villa to the Europa League title. Emery has transformed Villa's fortunes since taking charge four years ago, leading the club to two Champions League appearances and a Europa League victory last season.
