Zverev thrashes GB's Fery to reach Vienna semis

Alexander Zverev, the world number one, advanced to the semi-finals of the Vienna Open with a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win over Britain's Arthur Fery. The German, who recently topped the men's rankings, defeated Fery in just 58 minutes. Fery, who had been struggling with a leg injury, did not appear at his best. Zverev acknowledged Fery's tactical abilities but noted they were not as potent as his own.

This victory follows Zverev's straight sets win over Fery in their Wimbledon semi-final this summer. Despite the loss, Fery remains optimistic about his year, highlighting his rapid rise on the ATP Tour. Zverev, aiming for his third title of the year, will next face either Alex de Minaur or Matteo Berrettini. In the other semi-final, world number two Carlos Alcaraz will clash with Russian third seed Daniil Medvedev.
