Happy Halloween, friends! If you're seeking some nostalgic comfort movies on Disney+, the streaming service offers a variety to choose from. However, not all Disney Halloween movies are created equal. Here are the seven best Halloween movies streaming on Disney+, in no particular order.
First up, "Hocus Pocus". Initially a flop, this movie has since become a classic due to broadcast television, physical media, and time. Despite some odd casting choices, the performances of its heavy hitters make it a worthwhile watch.
Next, "Halloweentown". Balancing scariness for kids without unintentionally traumatizing them is a challenging task. "Halloweentown" successfully achieves this by standing on the line between too scary and not scary enough. With a delightful story, a genuinely scary villain, and a beloved cast including Debbie Reynolds, it's no wonder Disney is working on a fifth installment of the franchise.
"Don't Look Under the Bed" is another great option from Disney. This 1999 TV movie is considered one of the scariest Halloween movies from Disney, making it perfect for adults nostalgic about the films. Its atmosphere, interesting filmmaking, practical effects, and laughs make it a standout choice. However, parents should consider their children's spooky tolerance before watching.
