Rian Johnsons camera app gives your iPhone photos Knives Out colour grading
'Knives Out' creator Rian Johnson has launched camera app Chromagraph Camera, which applies the same image processing used in his films.
Knives Out director Rian Johnson has launched a photography app called Chromagraph Camera for iOS devices. This app, developed in collaboration with cinematographer Steven Yedlin and programmer Eric Cameron, applies a filmic colour grading similar to what Yedlin used in Johnson's movies. Johnson shared his excitement about the app on social media, praising its ease of use and the fact that it shoots in RAW format, allowing for more flexibility during editing.
Users can adjust the image's color, exposure, grain, and halation before exporting it to their camera roll. Despite its limitations, such as not being available on Android devices and lacking advanced manual controls, Chromagraph Camera offers a unique filmic look to iPhone photos, making it appealing for photography enthusiasts looking to achieve a specific aesthetic with their smartphone images.
