Remember ‘Light the Fire Within’ from Utah’s last Olympics? Here’s the motto for LA’s 2028 Summer Games
California ‘rallying cry’ differs from Utah’s ‘inspirational’ tone in 2002.
The 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Los Angeles will be motivated by the motto "Stars Align," described as the moment when "the triumph of sport meets the city of dreams." This motto was revealed in a video featuring the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Can't Stop." The motto's creator, Alex Merchán, stated that it is meant to inspire both athletes and the general public to participate in and support the historic event.
The motto reflects the city's dream of hosting a memorable Games, as well as a call for volunteers and fans to contribute to the success of the event. Los Angeles is currently the financial guarantor for the privately run Games, which are expected to cost more than $7 billion.
