To mark the 30th anniversary of iconic Pokémon video games Red and Green, the Pokémon Company has teamed up with Fender Guitars to release a pair of limited-edition electric guitars. The Made in Japan Pokémon Red Version Stratocaster and Pokémon Green Version Telecaster guitars are set to hit store shelves in 2027, with preorders opening soon according to the Pokémon Company.
These instruments blend Fender's signature design with nostalgic Pokémon pixel graphics, and feature an additional toggle for 8-bit audio - allowing musicians to transport their music back to the era of the original Game Boy.
To commemorate their 30-year partnership, both guitars include a special neck plate design featuring pixel art celebrating Pokémon's anniversary. The collaboration between Pokémon and Fender is a unique blend of gaming and music culture, merging the iconic characters with classic rock tones. Fans of both franchises will surely be excited by this unexpected musical fusion.
