Ondo businessman dies by suicide, police begin probe

Kayode Akinbolusere, also known as Tolufe, a prominent businessman from Ondo State, has reportedly taken his own life in his office in the Igba area of the state. According to the police, Akinbolusere died at around 1500hrs on Thursday, 29th October 2026. The businessman was said to have recorded a video explaining his decision to will all his property to his wife, Akinbolusere Esther, and his three children who are based in Canada.

In the video, Akinbolusere stated that he made the decision on his own, without any external pressure, acknowledging his wife's support throughout his life. He also expressed his regret about the faults in the machines at his workplace that led to his decision. The Ondo State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the suspected suicide of Akinbolusere, who was a resident of Road 7, Housing Estate, Igba.
