MTG's Reality Fracture Commander Deck Is "Among The Most Powerful We've Ever Released" According to WOTC

Magic: The Gathering's Reality Fracture set, released in 2026, has been hailed as one of the best sets in a busy year for the franchise. The set features alternate-reality versions of iconic characters from Magic's past, and while it contains many powerful cards, Wizards of the Coast only designed a single preconstructed deck for Commander players.

Gavin Verhey, a Game Designer at Magic: The Gathering, explained that the decision to release only one precon was due to potential issues when releasing two, as stores tend to stock one and have the other sell out quickly. Despite the challenge of making a deck cooler than the Jace Echoverse deck, Verhey decided to create one with extra resources, new cards, and a splashy theme with a four-color identity.

Multiverse Reforged, the preconstructed deck, is packed with alternate versions of legendary creatures and features Jace himself as the Commander. Many believe it to be a powerhouse right out of the box, making it one of the most powerful precons ever released.
