How Nollywood actors can earn beyond movie fees — Etim-Effiong

Talent manager Toyosi Etim-Effiong has highlighted the potential for Nollywood actors to earn additional income through profit-sharing deals negotiated by their managers. While such arrangements are not yet widespread in the industry, Etim-Effiong believes that they could provide actors with extra payments based on a film's commercial success, beyond their initial fees.

She drew a comparison to the Nigerian music industry, where royalty arrangements have allowed musicians to earn money from their work under agreed terms. Etim-Effiong emphasized the need for professional talent management to help creatives negotiate better deals and build sustainable careers, noting that the industry requires more professionals to represent actors, musicians, and other creatives.
