Dr Zaliha: New confidence and supply pact to strengthen political stability, give assurance Budget 2027 and reforms can proceed

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — The Unity Government, Bersatu, and several independent Members of Parliament have signed a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA), enhancing political stability and ensuring the smooth implementation of Budget 2027 and institutional reforms. Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who heads the Madani Government Backbenchers Club (BBC), emphasized that this agreement would provide reassurance that critical economic development initiatives could progress more effectively in a challenging global economic climate.

The CSAs, signed by six Bersatu MPs and seven other lawmakers, including Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, highlight the importance of political cooperation beyond party lines for the nation's benefit. Zaliha stressed that political stability extends beyond individual power dynamics to ensuring uninterrupted progress in the country's economic well-being.
