Barstool’s Joke about Raiders QB Goes Viral
A Barstool host called rookie QB Fernando Mendoza a perfect ex-boyfriend. The clip went viral fast, and Raiders fans are already ready for his start.
On September 20, 2026, a comment by Barstool Sports personality about Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza went viral. The comment, made during an episode of "Big Boys Club", resonated with fans, particularly those connected to Indiana's recent championship win. Ella Grif, a guest on the show, expressed her sadness, comparing Mendoza to a lost love she could never get back.
This emotional connection explains the sudden surge in interest for the young player. Despite Indiana's championship win, fans acknowledge that the feeling of victory would not be the same without Mendoza leading the team. The emotional weight of this loss has made the transition of an established player to the pros even more difficult for fans.
The viral moment has not only made people laugh, but also altered the Raiders' timeline. The team has lost four consecutive games following their start to the season, putting pressure on Kirk Cousins to improve. With a talented 23-year-old quarterback available, the question is no longer if Mendoza will start, but when he will take command of the offense.
Fans' desire to see Mendoza return to the field soon is expected to increase, adding a new dynamic to Las Vegas Raiders' current situation.
