Arrest, prosecute those behind Sowore's attack, abduction - Lawyer tells IGP Disu

Human rights lawyer Maduabuchi Idam has urged the Inspector General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, to arrest and prosecute those responsible for the attack and abduction of AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore. In a statement, Idam condemned the incident, stating that it is both shameful and unacceptable. He emphasized that Sowore should not face such humiliation or treatment, regardless of differing views.

Idam argued that a civil society should uphold respect for opposing voices and refrain from intimidation, harassment, or violence. He warned that allowing such conduct would lead to anarchy and an erosion of the rule of law. Idam urged the Inspector-General of Police to take immediate action to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those involved in the attack, ensuring that all individuals are held accountable before the law.
