Agoda Now Has An AI Assistant To Help Travellers With Bookings

Digital travel platform Agoda has unveiled a new AI-powered booking experience through the introduction of an AI chatbot. Dubbed the Agoda AI Assistant, the feature debuted as a limited test in September before being made available to users in 21 markets, including Malaysia. The chatbot aims to streamline the trip planning and booking process, eliminating the need for users to switch between various apps and websites.

Typically, travelers must research destinations, check availability and prices, and actually book flights and accommodations through multiple platforms. Agoda's assistant consolidates these steps within a single app, powered by OpenAI models. Users can engage with the chatbot within the Agoda app, linking existing trips to the conversation.

With access to the company's live inventory of over six million accommodations, flights, tours, attractions, and travel-related services, the assistant can suggest options, compare them, and remember user preferences throughout the planning process. The assistant also includes an integrated web search, providing up-to-date data from Google Maps for restaurants and points of interest.

To access the AI Assistant, users must download the Agoda app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Once inside the app, the chat interface can be accessed via the AI Assistant tab on the navigation bar. Users simply need to provide details about their desired trip to get started.
