5 Nikita Kucherov landing spots as he requests Lightning trade

Nikita Kucherov, a star player for the Tampa Bay Lightning, has expressed his desire to be traded. He has won two Stanley Cups and two Hart Trophies with the Lightning, amassing 1,139 points over his 13-year career with the team. As he nears the end of his contract, he expects a significant raise. Kucherov's 10-team wish list could potentially see him join franchises like the Montreal Canadiens, who are already strong but could benefit from his addition, despite potentially losing some young talent.

The Detroit Red Wings might see a great return for their Dylan Larkin and for Kucherov, while the New York Islanders could become a contender with a superstar forward. The Minnesota Wild, with their winning team, could potentially add Kucherov and fellow Russian star Kirill Kaprizov for a potential Cup win. Finally, the Washington Capitals, without Alex Ovechkin at the end of the season, could welcome Kucherov, alongside young talents who could be enticing for the Lightning to trade for in return.
