UDC to mark Qatar Sustainability Week 2026

Doha, Qatar - United Development Company (UDC) will join the 11th edition of Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2026, running from October 31 to November 7, 2026, according to a statement. Six environmental, educational and community-focused initiatives will be held across UDC's destinations, The Pearl and Gewan Islands.

Organised by Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future, the programme aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. UDC's Executive Director of Public Services, Abdullatif Ali Al-Yafei, expressed excitement about turning sustainability into an experiential activity for residents, employees, families and partners.

The week will commence with the SDG Ambassadors Sustainable Race at Beach Centrale around Duck Lake on October 31, followed by the opening of the SDG Ambassadors Art Exhibition at Qanat Quartier on the same day. This exhibition, featuring 50 paintings, recycled artworks and environmental sculptures, will highlight children's perspectives on a sustainable future.

Environmental awareness will be a key focus, with mangrove restoration project information sessions at Gewan Island's Plot 5, bilingual educational materials, games, and a temporary mangrove nursery at UDC's offices on November 5. Community engagement will also be a central theme, including a "Feed a Friend" charity book drive and a Community Garden Activation on November 7, where families can participate in planting activities.
