Tamannaah Bhatia reacts to Annu Kapoor’s ‘dudhiya badan’ remark: ‘What we filter is important’

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia addressed the controversy surrounding veteran actor Annu Kapoor's remarks about her appearance, which sparked criticism in 2025. At NDTV Profit Ignite 2026, Tamannaah was asked about Kapoor's comments on her complexion and body. She emphasized that as a creative individual, the most crucial aspect is to listen and discern what to retain and what to filter.

Tamannaah stated that focusing on one's work should be prioritized over such comments. She clarified that she doesn't dwell on such matters and instead concentrates on her acting career. The controversy arose when Annu Kapoor made a remark about Tamannaah's "milky body" during a YouTube interview in 2025. The comment, while meant as a compliment, drew significant backlash on social media, with critics accusing Kapoor of focusing on physical appearance instead of talent.

In response, Kapoor defended his remarks during an interview with Zoom, attributing the criticism to a cultural preference for English over Hindi. He suggested that if the statement were made in English, it wouldn't have generated the same level of backlash. Kapoor also expressed willingness to apologize to Tamannaah if she felt offended or raised the issue herself.
