Danish freight company Scan Global Logistics has announced plans to acquire Oregon-based logistics provider OIA Global in a deal that would make Scan among the top 20 freight forwarders globally. The acquisition, valued at over $780 million, is set to strengthen Scan's presence in key markets and expand its supply chain capabilities for customers beyond traditional freight forwarding.
OIA Global, founded in 1988, employs over 1,200 people across more than 60 offices in 30 countries. The acquisition of OIA Global will complement Scan's existing offerings and provide customers access to a broader range of supply chain solutions. Scan has recently expanded rapidly through acquisitions in Africa, Europe, and North America, and currently operates more than 5,100 employees across 200 offices worldwide.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
