KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) has decided to contest 21 seats in the upcoming Melaka state election, with any alterations pending a final decision from the coalition’s leadership. Communications director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil stated that PH will focus on the already announced seats. "We have announced 21 seats. If there are any changes, we leave it to the leadership to announce," Fahmi told reporters at a Deepavali contribution event for the Lembah Pantai parliamentary constituency.
The PH leader emphasized that the party will assess its involvement in the state polls based on its own capacity and capabilities, considering strategic and tactical factors. "We know several other parties will announce their candidates tomorrow. That is their prerogative, but our considerations are grounded in Pakatan Harapan’s own capabilities," Fahmi added.
Reports suggested that PH was set to contest three more seats, with PKR getting one extra seat and Amanah two. If finalized, PH would contest 24 out of the 28 state seats in Melaka.
