Nigerian Senator Adams Oshiomhole recounted a remark made by an Italian ambassador to him during a conversation on combating human trafficking in Nigeria. The incident occurred during a plenary session where Oshiomhole discussed the need for both the Nigerian and Italian governments to tackle the demand and supply of human trafficking victims.
The Italian ambassador's comment, "Italian men cannot resist Edo girls," sparked Oshiomhole's response, emphasizing the need for Italian citizens to reconsider their behavior towards trafficked women. Oshiomhole also highlighted the importance of the Italian government discouraging its men from patronizing trafficked women, arguing that without demand, there will be no supply.
