The election used ballot papers, and Modi's question highlighted Congress's disappointing performance. The opposition party claimed that BJP's successes were due to the manipulation of EVMs and electoral rolls, which Modi rebuked.

Congress's embarrassment was further amplified by their crushing defeat in all four Karnataka seats, where they hold office. BJP president Nitin Nabin emphasized the Congress' failure, stating that people had decisively rejected their anarchic politics. The results brought relief and joy to BJP as Congress and its allies planned a campaign to challenge the electoral roll modifications, claimed to favor the BJP.
