Foreigner arrested over alleged assault on auxiliary policeman at Genting casino

A foreign man, 34 years old, has been apprehended for allegedly assaulting an auxiliary police officer and causing damage to casino equipment at Sky Casino in Genting Highlands, Bentong, according to sources. According to DSP Azmi Mahmod, the preliminary investigation found that the suspect was reportedly intoxicated and had been aggressive towards members of the public prior to entering the casino.

He further alleged that the suspect damaged three gambling machine screens by repeatedly banging his head against them and two chairs, leading to an estimated loss of RM85,000. The suspect sustained a forehead injury requiring six stitches, as reported. A 32-year-old auxiliary police officer was also allegedly punched in the mouth by the suspect, causing two of his teeth to break.

The officer has since received treatment at Bentong Hospital. Initial checks revealed the suspect had no prior criminal record and tested negative for drugs, stated DSP Azmi. The case is currently under investigation for offenses under Sections 323 and 427 of the Penal Code, which pertain to voluntarily causing hurt and committing mischief resulting in property damage, respectively.
