Ex-rep wins APC rerun primary in Plateau

Dachung Bagos emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress rerun primary election for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State. The former representative of the House of Representatives secured 12,181 votes against Esther Simi Dusu's 2,495 votes. The rerun election, conducted across 11 wards, was ordered by a High Court in Jos following allegations of irregularities.

The Chairman of the Rerun Electoral Committee, Simon Elisha, announced the results at the APC state secretariat, stating that the process adhered to court orders and party guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness. Bagos, who previously represented the constituency in the House of Representatives, is now poised to represent the APC in the 2027 general election for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency seat.
