Cyberabad Police plan one-way loop to ease IT corridor traffic

Police to conduct traffic simulations and stakeholder consultations before phased implementation of proposed loop system

Cyberabad Police plan one-way loop to ease IT corridor traffic

The Cyberabad Traffic Police are devising a continuous one-way loop system between Biodiversity Junction and Knowledge City, with the aim of alleviating peak-hour traffic congestion on the IT corridor. The proposal, in collaboration with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), targets four primary bottleneck junctions between the two locations.

Under the proposed plan, vehicles would follow a continuous route starting from Biodiversity Junction, passing through IKEA Rotary, Raheja Mindspace (C-Gate), Knowledge City, and Dallas Center. The loop would then make a right turn at My Home Bhooja, ultimately returning to the starting point at Biodiversity Junction.

To enhance traffic flow, the entire width of the carriageways will be utilized, helping to minimize delays at junctions and enable uninterrupted movement of vehicles along the corridor. A team comprising Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh, senior traffic officers, and SCSC CEO Naveed Khan recently conducted an on-ground assessment of the proposed route to evaluate existing road infrastructure and junction-level challenges.

The police plan to conduct detailed traffic simulation trials in the coming days to analyze vehicular speeds and traffic density under the proposed system. Furthermore, coordination meetings with IT companies, business establishments, and other local stakeholders will be held to gather suggestions and feedback. Commissioner Ramesh emphasized that the one-way loop will be introduced in a phased manner once stakeholder feedback and the final execution plan are finalized.

Comprehensive traffic advisories and route diversions details will be disseminated to commuters well in advance of the implementation.
