Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister, Zahid Hamidi, emphasized the value of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the motorcycle industry, particularly for skilled workers who can earn a substantial income. He highlighted the promising career prospects in the high-performance motorcycle sector, mainly due to the growing demand for skilled mechanics, especially for high-performance motorcycles.

During a casual MotoGP event organized by AZH Club in Bangi, Zahid, who is also the chairman of the National TVET Council, stressed that technical skills acquired through specialized TVET training can give young people an edge in building their careers in this industry. Moreover, such skills open up opportunities to participate in international motor sports arenas.

Zahid further mentioned that attention is given to both electric vehicle (EV) and conventional motorcycle training as Malaysia and China collaborate in the Malaysia-China Institute in Bagan Datuk, which will provide insights into Chinese technology. He expressed optimism about the future of young people when they compete at the international level, suggesting that local mechanics from Malaysia can compete with professionals from Italy and Spain. Zahid stated that Malaysians can help their own national team athletes at the international level.

Earlier, Zahid spent over two hours with motor sports enthusiasts, giving fans a chance to interact with him and enjoy a mix of sports and entertainment elements. The event also featured local athletes, such as Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, and veteran Wazi Abdul Hamid, who shared their experiences in the motor sports arena. The gathering, attended by over 3,000 people, also showcased contributions to needy individuals, while raising awareness of social welfare issues.
