Audio-Technica Officially Unveils ATH-M50xSTS-WL StreamSet Wireless Headset

Audio-Technica has officially introduced the ATH-M50xSTS-WL StreamSet, marking the debut of the first wireless headset in their StreamSet series. This wireless headset aims to provide streamers and content creators with the flexibility of a cable-free setup. The new audio device mirrors the functionality of the wired M50x monitoring headphones while incorporating the 20 Series microphones.

Design-wise, the ATH-M50xSTS-WL retains the same appearance as its wired counterpart, with the sole distinction being its wireless connectivity. Unlike traditional Bluetooth connections, this headset utilizes a USB transceiver for pairing with PCs and compatible gaming consoles, delivering an ultra-low latency 2.4GHz connection.

The adapter boasts a maximum range of 10 meters. Audio-wise, the headset features the same 45 mm large-aperture drivers as the M50x, delivering clear sound across a broad range of frequencies with deep and precise bass. Accompanying this is a cardioid condenser microphone attached to a flexible boom arm, enabling easy positioning and quick muting when needed.

The headset also houses an adaptive noise reduction feature that continuously evaluates audio input to prioritize the user’s voice over background noise. Audio-Technica claims the headset offers up to 24 hours of battery life, with a 3.5-hour charging time via a USB cable included in the package. This same cable can also support wired audio operation.

Additional features of the device include two interchangeable earpad options: one prioritizing audio quality and noise isolation, while the other integrates mesh and leatherette for enhanced breathability and comfort. With a price tag of $299 (~RM1,216), the ATH-M50xSTS-WL StreamSet is set to hit the market, though local availability and pricing details remain uncertain as of the writing.
