The Presidency has criticized presidential candidate Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, for his recent remarks on the nation's state. Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, took to X to blast Obi, stating that he consistently says what he does not practice. Onanuga accused Obi of misleading the Nigerian people and expressed that his comments are deceptive.
He pointed out that during Obi's tenure as Anambra State governor, he failed to implement the projects he is now advocating for the Tinubu administration. Onanuga further revealed that Obi's administration did not complete numerous projects in its eight-year term and did not deliver on his promises to the Anambra State populace.
He urged Obi to stop playing to the gallery and face the harsh reality of his administration's failures. The Presidency highlighted that Obi's undeclared offshore assets and business holdings were disclosed in global leak reports, emphasizing his contradictory stance. Bayo Onanuga concluded by stating, "You always say what you don’t practise."
