WATCH: Tampa Bay Rays keep World Series dreams alive
ABC News’ Will Reeve has the big moments from the extra-inning thriller in Game 4, where the Rays avoided the sweep.
In a dramatic 12th-inning rally, the Tampa Bay Rays pulled off a stunning comeback to force a Game 5 in the World Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Jonny DeLuca and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson each hit home runs to tie the game and bring Tampa Bay to victory, 4-3. The Rays' bullpen, trailing by seven outs, managed to score seven runs in a row without allowing a single run.
The rally included consecutive singles by Liam Hicks, Jonny DeLuca, Chandler Simpson, and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson, all within a 15-pitch span. Milwaukee's bullpen, led by rookie Shane Drohan, had been scoreless for seven innings before Caminero's RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning. The Rays' manager, Kevin Cash, praised his team's resilience, noting that they never wavered in their determination to win. The Rays will face Jacob Misiorowski, the NL Cy Young Award favorite, in Game 5 at Tropicana Field.
