Two men have been apprehended by police in Kano State, accused of plotting to kidnap Bangare village head in Gezawa Local Government Area. The suspects, Aliyu Naziru Garba and Bashir Alhasan, both 20, were arrested following an intelligence-led operation initiated by a phone threat received by traditional ruler Mallam Idris. The police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed that the village head reported the incident to the Gezawa Divisional Police Headquarters on October 26.
According to Kiyawa, the caller threatened to abduct the village head at approximately 9:33pm, which prompted police operatives to investigate. The suspects have reportedly confessed to the alleged crime, and the police are currently investigating before their arraignment.
