Torrevieja Council is hosting an interactive workshop on Monday, 16 November, titled “What Do You See? Everyday Stories, Important Realities,” aimed at helping residents recognize warning signs of violence against women. The event, organized by the council’s Pangea Office and Equality Unit, will take place at the Multi-Purpose Building from 9.30am to 11.30am and will use practical examples to encourage discussion about discrimination, jealousy, controlling behavior, and harmful gender stereotypes.

Participants will learn how to identify early warning signs of abuse, challenge attitudes that normalize inequality, and understand what actions to take if they or someone they know is experiencing violence. The workshop will be led by an equality officer and an intercultural mediator, providing insights into gender equality, cultural diversity, and healthy relationships.

Information will also be provided on local support services for those affected by domestic or gender-based violence. The session is open to men and women aged 18 and over who are registered residents of Torrevieja, with a limited capacity of 30 participants. Registration is required, and attendees will receive a certificate of participation.

The council hopes this initiative will raise awareness of often unnoticed behaviors, promoting healthier relationships based on equality, respect, and mutual understanding.
