Reddit is taking a page out of TikTok’s book, and it’s not what you think

Reddit is introducing changes to its home feed, emulating a strategy previously employed by TikTok, according to recent reports. The platform will now divide its feed into two distinct sections: "For You" and "Following." "For You" will amalgamate content from the communities the user has chosen to join, as well as personalized suggestions tailored to their interests.

Conversely, "Following" will exclusively display posts from the communities that the user has chosen to follow. This update is set to be rolled out globally over the coming weeks, providing users with the ability to segregate algorithmically suggested posts from those from communities they are directly following. This move is intended to facilitate easier navigation for users who prefer to keep abreast of posts from communities they have already joined.
