Razer Launches Reclusa Mini 65%; One Month After X Model

Over a month following the introduction of the Reclusa X Mini 65%, Razer unveiled the standard version of the keyboard. Despite its outward similarity to the X model, the absence of the X yields a significantly distinct device on the inside. By implementing a single modification, it becomes capable of performing virtually all functions of the X model, along with more.

This modification involves the incorporation of Hall Effect switches, replacing Razer's proprietary Orange switches, akin to the Cherry MX Brown. This upgrade brings numerous advantages of magnetic switches, particularly Rapid Trigger mode and adjustable actuation. However, the shift to magnetic switches also implies the loss of tactile feedback provided by the Orange switches.

Furthermore, customization possibilities are considerably limited compared to conventional three- or five-pin mechanical switches with magnetic switches. Despite these drawbacks, the market for magnetic switches is maturing swiftly, leading to an increasing array of options over time. It is also worth noting that the Razer Reclusa Mini 65% now supports wireless connectivity, featuring Bluetooth and HyperSpeed Wireless 2.4 GHz.

Additionally, it can reach an impressive 8,000 Hz polling rate, albeit requiring the keyboard to remain plugged in for this feature. The sole visible distinction from the X model is a multi-function dial located on the top-right corner, which necessitates the sacrifice of the Insert key. While this key may be considered obsolete by many users, the replacement key is expected to garner more frequent usage.

Although the price increase for these additional features is notable, the Razer Reclusa Mini 65% is priced at RM569, positioning it more affordably compared to other keyboard options within Razer's range. The base model of the Reclusa Mini 65% is now available through select retailers and Razer's official online store.
