Police arrest two over threat to kidnap Kano village head

The Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly threatening to kidnap the Village Head of Bangare in the Gezawa Local Government Area.

Separately, the Tema Regional Police Command arrested a 52-year-old man, identified as Ibrahim Saani, on Sunday, October 25, 2026. According to The Chronicle Ghana, the arrest occurred near Airport Junction in New York following an intelligence-led operation.

During the operation, police retrieved a bag containing 37 parcels of compressed substances suspected to be Indian hemp and a crusher. The Chronicle Ghana reports that preliminary investigations suggest Saani may have feigned madness to conceal his suspected involvement in the distribution of narcotic substances within the area.
