macOS 27 Assets Hint at Dynamic Island for MacBook Pro

Ahead of Apple's anticipated unveiling of touchscreen MacBook Pro models, five system assets have been unearthed in macOS 27 that bear a striking resemblance to the information displayed in the iPhone's Dynamic Island. These assets suggest that the upcoming MacBook Pros will feature a Dynamic Island-like cutout for the FaceTime camera, effectively eliminating the notch that has been a part of the device's design since 2021.

Code explorer pdfu, who discovered the assets and shared them on X (Twitter), revealed that the assets cover various system functions such as AirPods connection, Focus activation, AirPods noise cancellation, low battery, and automatic audio switching. The assets are associated with a new menu bar component named MenuBarAgent, which lays the groundwork for a touchscreen Mac and a Dynamic Island, according to pdfu.

Pdfu further stated that some system compact and minimal views are already present, and he believes Siri AI will eventually occupy what he refers to as the new "system aperture" in a droplet-like design. The discovered views align with previous reports on macOS 27's hints of a touchscreen Mac ahead of the anticipated MacBook Pro models that Apple is set to announce later.
