John Goodman to expand his fatherly repertoire into The Beast In Me season 2

John Goodman is set to portray the father of Claire Danes' character, Aggie Wiggs, in the second season of the Netflix series The Beast In Me. Variety reports that Goodman will delve into the role of Jack, Aggie's complex and estranged father, despite not embracing the conventional fatherly image. Unlike Aggie's prior memoir, which explored her tumultuous relationship with her criminal father, the upcoming series appears to forego a warm family reunion.

Initially perceived as a limited series aimed at the 2026 Emmys, where it earned nominations for Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Lead Actor, and Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Netflix later greenlit a second season. Showrunner Howard Gordon expressed satisfaction in discovering a worthy story to continue the first season's narrative.

Gordon hinted that as long as Aggie is writing and exists, there is room for more Beast stories, indicating interest in exploring Aggie's complicated relationship with her grifter father.
