Florida Congress candidate Bale Dalton on his campaign, hopes of flipping open seat
Bale Dalton, a candidate for Florida's 7th congressional district, joins "The Takeout" to discuss his campaign and hopes of flipping his district's open seat in the upcoming midterms.
In a close and intense contest, Congress candidate Abhijeet Wanjari, a current MLC, narrowly defeated his BJP rival Sudhakar Kohale to retain the Nagpur Division Graduates' constituency seat. The vote counting began on October 27, 2026, and concluded on October 29, 2026, at an early hour. The ruling Mahayuti party secured two seats in Maharashtra, and the vote counting continued for other constituencies.
Wanjari secured 67,231 votes, while BJP's Kohale garnered 63,960 votes. Initially, after the first round of counting on October 28, Kohale led by 4,294 votes. However, after the second round of counting, Wanjari emerged victorious by 3,271 votes. The BJP's setback was particularly significant as the constituency is Wanjari's hometown, and both Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari campaigned extensively for Kohale.
