A 24-year-old American Airlines flight attendant, Destiny Blake, has been arrested for allegedly scamming an elderly woman in Florida out of approximately $25,000. Blake allegedly used a sweepstakes scam, pretending to be a representative from Publishers Clearing House, and convinced the victim to send a $500 gift card to claim a prize.
The victim lost access to her email account and withdrew around $14,000 from her bank accounts during the scam. Blake allegedly used her flight attendant travel benefits to fund her own lavish lifestyle, including international trips, Apple products, and food deliveries. She also added herself as an authorized user on the victim's credit card and made numerous purchases totaling $10,590.30 over 88 transactions.
Blake was arrested at Miami International Airport following a warrant issued by Flagler County, Florida authorities.
