Amazon introduces a host of new smart home devices: Meet the updated Echo line

Amazon has introduced a range of new smart home devices, including the updated Echo line. The new Echo Dot comes in four color options: graphite, glacier white, agave green, and coral pink. This device focuses on enhanced music listening and advanced smart capabilities. It boasts a full-range driver for improved bass and better volume, thanks to Amazon's AZ3 custom silicon for faster, more natural conversations through Alexa+.

The updated Echo Dot also features four microphones and supports Zigbee, Matter, and Thread protocols, allowing it to control thousands of smart devices. Additionally, it can function as an eero WiFi extender, expanding coverage to up to 1,000 square feet. Priced at $99.99, the Echo Dot is set to release on October 28th.

Meanwhile, Amazon has also updated its flagship speaker, the Echo Studio with Home Camera. This version features Dolby Atmos sound, creating an immersive spatial audio experience. It also includes a built-in camera that enhances Alexa+'s capabilities, enabling it to identify individual household members and play their personalized music playlists.

The camera can also be used to check in on pets or verify that lights have been turned off. Moreover, pairing the Echo Studio with Home Camera with a Fire TV allows for video calls on a larger screen. The device's privacy features include a physical button to control the microphones and cameras, and an indicator when the camera is active.

The Echo Studio with Home Camera is available for preorder at $249.99 and will be shipping later this year, available in graphite.
