Absher Safar enables travelers to complete border crossing requirements online
Saudi Arabia’s Absher Safar service now allows travelers to complete all land border entry requirements online before arrival, streamlining the process.
The Saudi Arabian government's Absher Safar service has introduced a new feature enabling travelers to complete all necessary land border entry procedures online prior to their arrival. This digital platform simplifies the entry process at Saudi Arabia's land border crossings. The General Directorate of Traffic states that the service encompasses registering both traveler and vehicle details, and even allows for the finalization of vehicle insurance, thereby enhancing the efficiency of entry into the Kingdom.
The service is accessible to both Gulf nationals and non-Gulf visitors traveling into Saudi Arabia via land borders. To utilize this online tool, visitors need to access the Absher app and navigate to “Absher Safar for Visitors” under the general services menu. After selecting their ID type, they input the necessary details, choose the intended border crossing, specify their travel date, fill in personal and vehicle information, and complete the vehicle insurance process.
