2027: I’ll deal with those who rig elections if… — Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has pledged to take action against election rigging in the 2027 presidential election if elected. Speaking at an NDC town hall meeting in Nasarawa State, Obi assured that his administration would deal with election rigging by "rigging those who rig it." He also stated that if elected President, Nigeria would never again see rigged elections due to strengthened party structures and electoral processes.

Obi called for stricter laws requiring candidates to have attended primary and secondary school before contesting elections, with violators facing jail terms. He warned INEC officials and other election administrators that those found guilty of rigging elections under his watch would be prosecuted. Obi emphasized his commitment to upholding the rule of law and building a new Nigeria where electoral rules are respected.
