On Tuesday, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), denounced President Bola Tinubu's request to borrow $20.52 billion and €1.045 billion for the upcoming 2027 election. Atiku contended that this loan constitutes a slush fund that could potentially be directed towards financing political campaigns and favored contractors.
He expressed concern over Tinubu's failure to outline specific projects that the loans would support, labeling the situation as a potential misuse of public funds.
