You were only sanitary inspector, know nothing about economics - Presidency fires back at Atiku

The Presidency has responded harshly to presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, regarding his economic policy. Bayo Onanuga, Senior Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, criticized Atiku's qualifications in an X post. Onanuga questioned Atiku's knowledge about economics, stating that his only prior job was as a sanitary inspector before joining the Nigerian Customs Service.

This reaction came after Atiku made recent comments about the economy. The Presidency affirmed that Tinubu's economic reforms were effective and urged Atiku not to divert attention from the nation. The statement clearly indicated that Atiku, despite his role in the Nigerian Customs Service, had no understanding of economics.
