What You Need to Know About Roco Kingdom, the Creature-Collecting Sensation Going Global

Roco Kingdom is a free-to-play game developed by Tencent's Morefun Studios, in which players assume the role of a mage from a magic academy and explore the vibrant world of Carosia. The objective is to collect magical creatures known as Jinies, with a total of 212 unique Jinies to find during the closed beta test, with hundreds more expected for the game's full launch.

Among the various Jinies players can collect are Vargheim, a wolf-like Jini with strong claws and natural armor; Cluckchamp, a fighter chicken; Bluffa, a fierce and playful bear; and Duckiji, a soft duck with a fondness for shiny objects. Despite similar appearances, each Jinie possesses unique talents, personalities, heights, weights, colors, and specialties.

For example, two Bluffas can differ significantly in personality, with one being stubborn and the other cheerful, leading to differences in physical attack abilities.

Jinies also have special abilities such as Shared Ride, which allows them to carry players as they explore, and Sharer, which triggers bonus drops when the Jini is used. Visual differences are also present, with some Jinies featuring Chromatic variants, giving them entirely different color schemes. Players can capture Jinies using pods, each catching Jinies of different classes and providing unique buffs.

Solar pods are ideal for capturing Flora and Light-class Jinies, Prism Pods yield Prismatic Jinies, and Net pods are most effective for Water and Wing-class Jinies.

Players can team up with up to four others to target Blossoms, which offer opportunities to capture high-level Jinies and even Chromatic and Prismatic variants. Additionally, weekly PvE challenges feature legendary boss battles against Winged King, a flying horse character with striking purple wings, and Parlyth, a mystical dog with devilish features and sharp blue scales, claws, and horns. These battles reward players with Jinies and other surprises.
