Utah basketball secures commitment from 4-star point guard
Jamaal McKnight Jr. is rated a top 100 prospect in the 2027 class by ESPN.
Utah head coach Alex Jensen announced on Tuesday that 4-star point guard Jamaal McKnight Jr. has committed to his program. The 6-foot guard, who attended Iowa United Prep, is considered a top prospect in the 2027 class, ranking No. 94 overall in SCNext 100. McKnight chose Utah over other options, including UNLV, Boise State, and Kansas.
Ranked No. 126 overall talent and 18th-best point guard in 247 Sports' composite rankings, McKnight will compete at Iowa United Prep this season under the guidance of former NBA head coach Keith Smart. This commitment adds to Utah's already impressive 2027 class, which includes three-star shooting guard Pierce Thompson.
