Trump says he will respect midterm results 'if they're honest elections'

Trump, who has for years propagated unsubstantiated allegations of widespread voter fraud, has intensified his stance as recent polls indicate Republicans might forfeit control of Congress during the Tuesday elections.

When queried about his commitment to respecting the midterm results, the 80-year-old president assured reporters, "I will, if they're honest elections." Following his statement, Trump embarked on a campaign tour to Texas.

Though the aging president expressed openness to collaborating with the opposition Democrats should Republicans succumb to losing their majority in both the House of Representatives and Senate, he emphasized his robust executive power, hoping the scenario would not transpire. "I have strong veto," Trump asserted, adding that should the Democrats secure a significant victory, known as a "blue wave," he anticipates resolving the situation through negotiations, as has occurred with previous administrations.
