The GMKtec M6 Ultra is our favorite mini PC overall — now Amazon has it on a limited-time deal for $500

The GMKtec M6 Ultra, a compact mini PC highly recommended for most users seeking a portable desktop for daily work and general office tasks, is now available on Amazon at a limited-time deal for $500, originally priced at $700. This mini PC, which earned a rating of 4.5 stars in our review, boasts impressive features at an affordable price, making it an ideal choice for home and office users who value cost-effectiveness and upgradeability.

Key features include a 16GB DDR5 and 1TB SSD, both of which can be expanded if needed. The M6 Ultra is powered by the Ryzen 5 7640HS chip, coupled with two USB4 ports that support fast accessories or dedicated graphics cards. It also offers dual 2.5G Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 6E, and boasts robust connectivity options through HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and Bluetooth 5.2 capabilities. Additionally, the M6 Ultra can be mounted VESA behind a monitor, providing a sleek and space-saving design.

Our reviewer, Alastair Jennings, praised the M6 Ultra for its value, stating that it handled all tasks he encountered with ease, had a straightforward process for upgrading RAM and storage, and operated quietly during regular use. However, it's worth noting that gaming performance is best at lower settings without an external graphics card.

Despite the component cost crisis, this is the current sale price available on Amazon, making it a competitive choice compared to other offers. While the GMKtec M6 Ultra is available at the same price on the company's website with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD, purchasing it from Amazon provides better value. For those looking to buy during specific sales events like Black Friday, there may be even deeper discounts, although the price is expected to remain around $20 higher if it does drop.

In summary, the GMKtec M6 Ultra is an excellent choice for those in need of a small, quiet, and powerful PC for office work, media streaming, and casual gaming. Its upgradeability and versatile connectivity make it a versatile option for various workloads. However, it may not be the best fit for users seeking high-performance gaming experiences without investing in an external GPU.
