Then colorful and innocent

Splanky is a very unique fan-made derivative work that, at first glance, appears to be a colorful and innocent music creation game, but instantly transforms into a spine-chilling horror experience the moment a specific character is placed. Originally based on the mechanics of a popular rhythm game, it features a dramatic shift where characters become grotesquely damaged and the music changes to an eerie discord as the screen fades to black. This intense gap was shared and went viral on video sharing sites. However, its overwhelming popularity led to severe harassment and personal information leaks targeting the then-teenage creator, ultimately forcing the official version to be taken down. Despite this, fans captivated by this bizarre worldview have continued to produce numerous derivative works. To this day, Splanky continues to evolve independently, driven by the community, symbolizing the light and darkness of internet culture.
