England head coach Steve Borthwick says his players have tried to make most of limited preparation time for their Test against a comparatively battle-hardened Australia.
England coach Steve Borthwick acknowledges the challenge of limited preparation time for his squad ahead of their Test match against Australia. The Wallabies have had more opportunities to prepare for their upcoming match, having played 10 Tests since July. England's preparations have been hampered by the Premiership season, with players having less time for full squad training due to fixtures on Sundays.
Borthwick emphasizes the importance of focusing on priorities and not getting sidetracked, as well as adapting to the different level of competition at the breakdown in international rugby. Despite the challenges, he believes playing at the weekend can benefit the England players, as they will be match-fit and available for selection.
Borthwick also highlights the strength of English rugby, with players showing great loyalty and passion for their clubs, which will aid their transition from club to international rugby.
