Los nuevos jubilados cobran 1.863 euros, más que la mitad de los asalariados

According to recent statistics from the Ministry of Social Security, the average monthly pension payment for new retirees in September was 1,863 euros, paid out in 14 installments. This amount is more than half the monthly income of half of the working population in Spain. Despite the significant increase in pension costs, which grew by 28% compared to the consumer price index (CPI), even after accounting for recent price hikes, new retirees continue to receive higher pensions than one in every two salaried workers.

The average monthly pension for new retirees in the general regime is projected to exceed the salaries of the lowest five deciles by 6.5%. The cost of pension payments has risen by 28% compared to October 2024 and by 28% more than the inflation rate, surpassing inflation levels not seen since February 2023.
