Korean job postings grow longer, more detailed in AI era: JobKorea

Korean job postings have become markedly longer and more detailed over the past five years, as companies increasingly outline the specific skills they seek due to the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI), according to a recent analysis by job portal JobKorea. The online recruitment platform, operated by Worxphere, examined the content of job postings listed on its website from 2021 through the third quarter of 2023.

The proportion of postings featuring a dedicated section on preferred qualifications surged nearly two-fold, from 14.5% in 2021 to 28.3% this year. Similarly, the share of listings detailing required qualifications grew from 18.6% to 27.3% during the same period. Since 2025, preferred qualifications have become more prevalent than required ones in job postings.

Moreover, job postings have expanded in length. The median length increased by 79%, from 483 Korean characters, including spaces, in 2021 to 864 characters in 2023, while the average length rose by 32%, from 817 to 1,077 characters. Job postings mentioning AI skills are on the rise, with keywords such as “AI utilization,” “generative,” and “prompt” appearing increasingly frequently.
