On Monday Night Football, Cowboys alum Marcus Spears took issue with Philadelphia Eagles fans chanting "Dallas Sucks!" before the teams' Week 7 matchup at Lincoln Financial Field. Spears, a former Dallas draft pick, faced off against the Eagles in a game that featured numerous absences due to injuries and other factors. The Eagles had won the season series between the two rivals in the 2025-26 year, but coming into the Monday Night Football contest, they were playing with a depleted roster, without star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
For his part, Spears hoped to put an end to the banter between the two fanbases, emphasizing the intensity of the rivalry and the stakes for both teams in a must-win game for their respective playoff aspirations.
